London – Brighton Cycling Event 2017

It seemed like a good idea at the time, but we didn’t plan for it being one of the hottest days of the year… but at least we got a day by the sea.

Despite a little bit of training the 54 mile event seemed longer than I recalled from previous occasions or perhaps I am just a little older!

It was a fulfilling experience and an opportunity to raise money for a good cause. Inspired by the positive impact that the charities have on the lives of people in need of support, we decided to enter other events in partnership with our clients.

As part of the build up to the main event below at the end of the month I completed a ‘little loosener’ over 65 miles from London to Cambridge so looking forward to the serious event now.

On Sunday 30th July 2017, I will be taking part in the Prudential Ride London-Surrey 100. The route is similar to that of the London 2012 Olympic Road Cycling Races; starting in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and travelling through London before navigating some of Surrey’s stunning country roads and through the Surrey Hills, ending with a spectacular finish on The Mall in central London.

I will be riding on behalf of the Rainbow Trust; they are a charity which supports families of terminally ill children. Their Family Support Workers provide a life line to the families; they support the whole family including parents, carers, the child, siblings and grandparents. They provide support and help to families who so desperately need it at home, in hospital and in the community.
